Douce Plays The Stone April 22

The Stone Calendar

The Stone is John Zorn's new nonprofit venue that he opened this month, dedicated to the avant guarde and experimental.

Musicians get all thhe money from the door, and they dont sell drinks or merchandise. It is purely a place to go hear music, in a space where musicians are actually getting paid for what they do.

So Douce(Gisburg and Phil Painson), who made the original score for "High Life" is playing at The Stone this Friday April 22 at 8pm. It costs 10 bucks, and the place is located on the corner of Ave C and 2nd street.

This may be the last chance to see them play in the states. They are moving to Berlin in May! I will miss them, but definately wish them the best of luck!

Your Hi-Class DVD!

Hey

I am very happy to see that now YOU can own your very own "Hi-Class DVD!"

These guys called Automatic Vaudville up in Montreal - I'll tell ya - what ever they are charging for that DVD is not enough. You will be the cool kid when you show this thing to your friends and you say "check out how wack these guys from montreal are."

It looks like they are making DVD Round 2, which will include "The Recommendations" which screened at SF Indiefest along side "High Life."

Six Characters - The Finest in Modern Silent Comedy

Six Characters - The Finest in Modern Silent Comedy

Look out for the new "six characters" show" at theater for the new city this june.

if you dont know who these fine folks is, they make silent slapstick/vaudville type theater with a multimedia element. they are funnny.

I know of them since James Ford, who plays Benji in "High Life" is in the group. Would you ever guess that Benji was doing silent comedy on the side?

Lucky for me, yours truly will get to spend a little extra time staring at the six characters, since i will be editing the multimedia aspect of the show.

yay for funny people! I'm so happy that I am funny enough to edit their funniness.

sign up on their mailing list so you can find out when their show is. Their work is top notch.
